Home Visits:
Home visits are available for patients who live in the local area and whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. To obtain a home visit during practice hours, it needs to be safe and reasonable for the doctor to attend. When a patient is triaged and a home visit is deemed unsafe or unreasonable, a telephone consult will be offered.
Please note that most problems are better dealt with in the surgery where there is access to nursing staff and equipment. As such, we ask home visits only be requested when absolutely necessary, as doctors are often fully booked. If a home visit is required, please phone the surgery on (08) 9457 4895 as early as possible. Please be aware that you may be referred to the nearest emergency department.
Communications:
Doctors are often busy with patients during our normal opening hours, although they may sometimes be interrupted for emergency advice. Our practice nurses can help when the doctor is unavailable, and our reception staff are experienced in deciding the appropriate response to any phone request.
Please note that any emergencies phoned in involving difficulty breathing, chest pain, collapse, allergic reaction, major injury/burns, bleeding, limb weakness or numbness, severely unwell children, will be immediately advised to hang up and call 000 for an ambulance.
Email Policy:
For privacy and secure messaging reasons, we do not respond to messages sent via unencrypted email. If you send a message and require a response, please contact the Practice on (08) 9457 4895.
Referrals:
Doctors in this practice may, if required, refer you to a specialist for further investigations. You can discuss this with your doctor including potential out of pocket expenses. Patients requesting referrals without seeing the doctor will be charged a fee.
Scripts:
You may wish to request a prescription from your doctor, without coming in for a visit. It is at the doctor’s discretion to write this prescription, and a fee will be charged on pick up. Depending on the prescription the doctor may require you to come in for an appointment.
Test Results:
Results are reviewed by your doctor and acted on in a timely manner. You will be contacted if a follow-up appointment is necessary. Please remember to keep your details up to date.
